Week 23

you're 23 weeks old! Holli you're still about the size of a papaya! Your little face is fully formed...minus the baby fat, of course. The next task at hand for you is sprouting two teeny-tiny nipples! Crazy uh?

Week 25 & 26

Wow! Can you believe you have eyelashes at 26 weeks? Your Aunt Tabatha is famous for her long lashes. You'll start batting them soon. At this point, Mommy probably feels like you (who she haven’t even met yet) has taken over your life. You've been interfering with her sleep and messing with her brain. (Forget much?) It’s normal for Mommy to be experiencing some mild swelling, but around week 26, it’s important to watch out for swelling severe or sudden -- it could be the sign of a dangerous condition called preeclampsia. Wonder if Mommy has noticed her belly occasionally feeling really tight? That’s a contraction. Yup, already. Don’t freak out though -- Mommy's body is just practicing some tightening in preparation for labor. As long as the contractions aren’t steady or severe, she's not in labor.

Holli your skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, your newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.

Check out your pretty Mommy.

Week 25
Barely can tell with that top.

Week 26
Your baby's the size of an eggplant!
She's still growing in the 13.6- to 14.8-inch and 1.5- to 2.5-pound range, and developing her senses, features and talents!

Week 22

You're now the size of a papaya and settling into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. (LUCKY) The real estate within your Mommy's belly is getting tight, with you growing...leaving little room for your Mommy's lungs to...well...breathe. She should expect the huffing and puffing to start soon. There's not much room for her belly button, either -- it'll pop out any day now.

Week 21

Hollie/Holli (your parents are still working on the spelling of your name and so far no middle name has been given) you're now the size of a banana! Your digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion, and dead cells), which will fill your first diaper after birth. (gross uh?) And, since you're a baby girl, your womb is now stocked up with a lifetime supply of six million eggs (the number will drop to around one million by birth). Here's mommy at 21 weeks pregnant.

Week 20

You're now the size of a cantaloupe!
You gulp down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, your taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, your mommy needs to think about what she'll like you to eat as she prepares her own lunch. :)
